Christmas Eve

Our Christmas Eve started with a party with a lot of people in our ward. They throw this party every year. I am glad we went. The white elephant gift exchange was pretty good. We ended up with some little girl dress up accessories and some fireworks. Jacob gave the fireworks away on our way out-we wouldn't use them anyway. We ALMOST ended up with a huge punching bag and glove set. Someone opened it. Jacob stole it and the next to last person stole it from Jacob. He was pretty bummed. But all in all the party was fun. We got home about 6:15 and started our little traditions. Jacob read (summarized) Luke 2. Our girls were so ready for bed. Maybe next year we will have the traditional reading.

Then we opened Christmas Eve jammies. Sophie was very into opening presents this year. She even helped Livi.

Then she happily opened her own. They each got two new pairs of jammies and a new pair of slippers. Sadly, the slippers have not been worn as much as I anticipated.

Then we had baths and put on our new jams. Sophie's have cows on them and Livi's have owls. They are so dang cute!

Sophie took a picture of us. Not too bad.

After the girls were in bed, the real fun began...Jacob (and me a little) had to build the play kitchen Granny Tater sent. He had to bust out the drill to make holes for the screws.

After what seemed like a long time, we finished up by adding the decals and voila! Here is the play kitchen. The burner makes a sizzling sound. The microwave buzzes and the phone rings. It has been as popular as you would have guessed! The girls love it.
