Thanksgiving Weekend

Our Thanksgiving began on Wednesday because Daddy-O took the day off! Woohoo! In honor of that, we sent him out to get us some donuts. Livi licked off all the pink frosting w/sprinkles, then she ate the donut part. Clearly, she has her system down.

Sophie bit off the sprinkled frosting and then ate the donut part. We love frosting at our house!

Thanksgiving morning we started with a carpet picnic for breakfast. Then we settled into our seats to watch the Macy's parade. I wish they would have skipped the lame interviews with weird celebrities (some random model? who cares!?) and just stuck with showing us the huge balloons and marching bands. The girls loved the balloons best.

For the big feast, we went over to the Chandler's house. They are some friends in our ward (who are both also from Twin Falls!) Nan and I divided the dishes. I did the potatoes, stuffing, two pies, a veggie tray and some cheese and crackers. She did the bird, a pie, the gravy, the rolls and a fruit salad. I am sure she did way more work than me.

While the mommies and daddies were in the kitchen, Livi and Wesley got cozy. So cute!

Nan and her 20+ lb bird. She did a great job. It was delicious and moist.

Jacob was put in charge of cutting it and he did a great job. Also in attendance at dinner were a couple of other people from the ward as well as the missionaries. After everyone was fed, there was still so much food left, so we divided up the left overs, so everyone got some of everything. Thanks again the Natalie and Aaron for having us over!

On Saturday our town had the Gingerbread Festival. Sadly, it was really rainy, so a few of the activities weren't going on. But we did find the boy and girl gingerbread people (indoors!) and had some photos taken. Libby was less than enthused.

Yet, Sophie's lack of enthusiasm made Livi look excited! I don't know if it was the weather or what, but both girls were in a funk for all of this. We had hoped to find Santa, but he wasn't going to be around for another hour and we didn't want to hang out in the rain...maybe another time? Happy (late) Thanksgiving! We are grateful for our many blessings.

Yay for friends to share Thanksgiving with - and even better when they share the leftovers! Love the photos!
