St. Nicholas Day

For the first time, we celebrated St. Nicholas Day. I have always wanted to (mostly because the French do, and you know how I feel about the Frenchies!), but thought we should wait until we had kids who would think it was fun. St. Nicholas only brought things for the kids and they had the best time. Nick left most of the presents unwrapped, but wrapped one for each of the girls.

The littles came out to their surprises. They were sort of confused, but really excited. We told them to find their shoe and the stuff under it was for them.

Daddy-O even went into work a little late so he could take part. Each girl got a mini book of Christmas stickers, a little 10 or 12 piece puzzle, a coloring book and a chocolate/marshmallow Santa.

Plus they each got a book to unwrap. Livi's was a musical Mickey Mouse book that came with a little guitar. All the characters in the book have their own song, so on their page you push their button on the guitar. It continues to be popular...and noisy. What was Nick thinking?!

Sophie wanted to unwrap hers herself-very independent, that one.

Hers was a Tinkerbell activity book. There is a white board marker to use on all the pages and a bunch of cling stickers to put anywhere. St. Nick did a pretty good job all around. Hopefully he finds us again next year.

Does this mean Santa doesn't come on Christmas Eve. I think I am confused too.
